Mr Faisal Ashfaq

Mr Faisal Ashfaq is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon listed on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. With more than 20 years in medicine and almost two decades of plastic surgery experience, he has trained and worked at leading centres in the United Kingdom, the United States, Switzerland, Pakistan and Taiwan.

Mr Ashfaq holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Plastic Surgery and the European Diploma in Hand Surgery. His advanced training includes a Clinical Microsurgery Fellowship at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and an aesthetic and facial plastic surgery fellowship in Switzerland.

His clinical practice has included cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, facial aesthetic surgery, body contouring, liposuction, skin cancer reconstruction, hand surgery and complex microsurgical reconstruction. His aesthetic training has covered procedures including breast augmentation and reduction, facelift surgery, rhinoplasty, abdominal contouring and surgery following significant weight loss.

Mr Ashfaq currently works as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in breast microsurgery. His NHS experience includes microsurgical breast reconstruction, general breast referrals, skin cancer surgery, trauma and orthoplastic reconstruction. He has also been responsible for restoring and developing breast microsurgery services within an NHS trust.

Alongside his reconstructive work, Mr Ashfaq maintains a private cosmetic surgery practice in Manchester, where his work focuses on procedures involving the breasts, face and body. His extensive reconstructive background gives him a detailed understanding of anatomy, tissue handling and surgical planning, which he applies to aesthetic surgery.

Mr Ashfaq is an experienced educator, published author and regular speaker at national and international surgical meetings. His contribution to reconstructive surgery has also included extensive cleft lip and palate work, for which he received the Smile Train Global Leader in Cleft Care Award in 2014.
